Hamlet House

Fineline were approached by the owners of Hamlet House who had purchased the property for the location and large plot, with a generous garden and swimming pool. 

The original house has character, whereas existing extensions do not add to the property in terms of design and layout.

The brief for the project was to reorientate the ground floor, allowing for an open plan kitchen, dining and snug space with a direct connection to the garden, replacing the existing closed off kitchen. Further changes involved repositioning the existing ground floor bedroom away from the social spaces and upgrading the exterior of the property to the rear.

Crittall glazing and a large strip rooflight bring light and direct views into the garden from this new open plan space, creating a new and improved space for the family to use. 

As the property is located within the Green Belt, a series of planning applications are proposed to gain the additional footprint required for the contemporary rear extension and new pool house.
